… Rabindranath had written a poem ‘Bodhu-mongol’ based on a painting ‘Saat bhaai champa’ by Gaganendranath Tagore. Manjusree, daughter of Surendranath Tagore was married to Khitishprosad Chattopadhyay on this day and it is presumed that this song was gifted to her. It read –
"Ogo badhu sundari
Naba madhu manjari
Saatbhai champar laho abhinandan –
Parner paatre
Phalgunraatre
Swarner borner chhonder bandhan."
Later it was changed to the current form. …
