The following Tagore songs which are correspond to Carnatic style. Several songs had been composed by Rabindranath which bear prominent Carnatic signature. He did not visit South India although it was Sarala Devi who, during her long stay in Mysore, had collected several local songs and presented them in front of her Uncle. Moreover another talented singer from South India, a student in Shantiniketan, Savitri Govinda Krishnan had been instrumental to make Rabindranath acquainted with this style of music.
