She was raised in a music loving family and had the opportunity to train her ears and mind in pure classical and light classical music from a very tender age, along with listening to Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrulgeeti, Bhajans, Ghazals. Sm. Saha-Mitra has completed B.Muse from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad, attaining Distinctions.

She was raised in a music loving family and had the opportunity to train her ears and mind in pure classical and light classical music from a very tender age, along with listening to Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrulgeeti, Bhajans, Ghazals.
Sm. Saha-Mitra has completed B.Muse from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad board of Music - attaining Distinctions in both Classical and Rabindra Sangeet.
She had performed in Yuvavani Radio - from All India Radio and in Doordarshan for a few years while in Kolkata. Later she had the privilege of coming under the tutelage of great Rabindra Sangeet maestros, as Late Sm. Ritu Guha and Late Sri. Subinoy Roy. She was fortunate enough to be able to continue her lessons under Sri. Subinoy Roy for quite sometimes.
Coming to US, Sm. Saha-Mitra performed Rabindra Sangeet in several Banga melas and Banga Sammelans. In US, along with Rabindra Sangeet, she also had Atulproshad and Rajanikanta trainging from the noted singer, Sm. Banani Ghosh.
In 2009, Bhaswati was invited to perform Rabindra Sangeet, by one of the noted Rabindra Sangeet school of music, Dakshinee, in their Silver Jubilee Year celebration, held in Kalamandir, Kolkata.
The same year 2009, Bhaswati had released a music album in Rabindra Sangeet from Kolkata, 'Sara Barosh Dekhi Ne Maa'.
