…On the day of Sri Panchami (Saraswati Puja) young boys had started for a picnic. Rabindranath would to visit there in the afternoon. … There was only one large two storied building in Surul, people had taken a bit of rest on its verandah. Then … the poet read out a couple of poems followed by songs. Pundit Bhim Rao Shashtri presented a few songs. Then songs of spring started flowing from ‘Phalguni’. … Probably the song ‘Aaji Bijon Ghore …’ had been written by he poet on that very day. He had presented this song to mark the end of the occasion. …

Aaji bijan ghare nishithraate aasbe jodi shunyo haate - Aami taaite ki bhoy maani ! Jaani jaani , bondhu jaani - Tomar aachhe to haatkhaani. Chaawa-paawar pathe pathe din ketechhe konomote, Ekhon samay holo tomar kaachhe aapnake dii aani. Aandhar thaakuk dike dike aakash-andho-kora, Tomaar paros thakuk aamar-hriday-bhora. Jibondolay dule dule aaponare chhilem bhule, Ekhon jibon maron du dik diye nebe aamay taani.
