Natun Bouthaan passed away - it was inexpressible twitching in the heart. I used to stroll around on the top of my apartment till late in the night murmuring at the sky - 'Where are you Natun Bouthaan, please show me up for once'. I used to sing this song very often. This happens to be my song of choice.
Aamar praaner pore chole gelo ke Basanter baataastukur mato.
It seems funny that the age of a person who has died does not increase any more. My Natun Bouthaan - she had been a young girl since then. But look at me - I have grown considerably aged, drooping.
A drama was written jointly by Rabindranath, Jyotirindra Tagore and Akshay Chowdhury with a name Bibaha-utsav having seven scenes and forty five songs. Twenty eight of which were written by Rabindranath. This song too was included in it. The songs had association with the marriage of Hiranmoyee Devi, daughter of Swarnakumari Devi and Phanindranath Mukhopadhyay.
