Notes: Asitkumar Haldar, the renowned artist, was son of Suprabha, daughter of Sharatkumari Devi, Rabindranath’s elder sister. In his memoire, ‘Rabi-tirthe’ had written –
… It is about the motivation of Rabi-da for composing new songs – it was never a predictable one. That year in the month of Choitro, a sudden gust of wind, whirling around the open field of the Ashram; dry leaves left flying – Rabi-da’s musical interpretation was ready with – ‘Aamay bnaadhbe Jodi kaajer dore…’.
Dinu-da was’nt there present in the Ashram that day – who would serve Him as the vault? Ajit Chakraborty and myself had received the melody and as soon as Dinu-da came back we quickly transferred it to him and the song was properly preserved.
