Parjaay: Anushthanik Sangeet (7)
Written on: 1914
Swarabitan: Notation not available
Notes: This song was written in the month of May 1914
This song was written on the occasion of the marriage of Kumudini (daughter of Krishnakumar Mitra, the leader of Brahmo Samaj and the editor of ‘Sanjivani Patrika’ and his wife Leelavati) with Sachindranath Basu, one of the leaders of Bango-bhango revolt on 18th May 1914. Rabindranath had sent this song although it is not known whether He had composed a tune for it. It is worth mentioning that Rabindranath had written another song for the marriage of Leelavati, daughter of Rajnarayan Basu with Krishnakumar Mitra in the year 1881. Composing two different songs one for the marriage of mother and then for the daughter is something unique and demands special attention.
