Notes: This song was composed for the Maaghotsava celebration of 1894 (1300B).
Rabindranath's niece, Sarala Devi was one of his close followers. Presenting quite a few of his songs in public for the first time, harmonizing his songs, preparing notations goes to her credit. She used to collect local musical tunes whenever she had gone anywhere and Rabindranath used to compose new songs applying those tunes. In her book Jiboner Jharapaata she writes -
... I had come up with a unique bouquet of music when I had been to Mysore. There seemed no respite till I could unload my basket under Rabi-mama's feet. He would gleefully pick up one at a time and own them with his own set of lyrics. 'Eso hey grihodebota ...' ... is a song the tune of which I had come up with.

Eso hey grihodebota, E bhabon punyoprobhabe karo pobitro. Birajo janoni, sabar jiban bhori - Dekhao aadarsho mahan choritro. Shikhao korite khama, karo hey khama, Jaagaye raakho mone tabo upoma, Deho dhoirjo hridaye - Sukhe dukhe sonkote atal chitto. Dekhao rajoni-diba bimalo bibha, Bitaro purojone subhro protibha - Nabo shobhakirone Karo griho sundoro ramyo bichitro. Sabe koro premodaan, puriya praan - Bhulaye raakho, sakha, atmaabhiman. Sob boiro hobe duur Tomare boron kori jibonomitro.
