A young engineer, Akhil Chakraborty, had once tried to install a tubewell within Shantiniketan permises in 1922 – which had failed. Rabindranath had written 'Eso eso hey trishnar jol...' to mark the occasion. However the project was a success in 1936 and the tubewell was installed. Shantidev Ghosh in his book 'Rabindra-sangeet has written –
... A program had been arranged to express gratitude to the Bengali businessman who had funded for the tubewell installation. Rabindranath had produced a song two hours before the start of the program – 'Hey aakashobihari niradabahan jol ...'
