The amount of passion the poet used to have for error-free printing of his own compositions can be felt from the history of printing of this song. It was sent for reprint on ‘Probasi’, although it was included in ‘Gitanjali’. It was published in the Ashwin, 1317B number of ‘Probasi’. He, in a letter without a date, written to Charuchandra Bandopadhyay, had justified his demand –
… This song has been printed in a shape which is too much inaccurate. Gitanjali is yet to be published – that means Manilal would not let it surface in the market before Ashwin. I am very anxious to protect the original version of it. …
Prashantakumar Pal has expressed his thought in ‘Rabijiboni’ otherwise; he says –
… It wasn’t ‘too much’, in fact. The fourth line was printed as ‘Hoyni Saara’ instead of ‘Hoyne Haara’, although the tenth and the twentieth line did display it correctly. …
This song has two notations one in Teyora taal prepared by Surendranath Badopadhyay and another in Rupakra taal by Dinendranath Tagore.
