This song was composed for Maghotsava celebration and it was sung by the poet himself on 11th Magh morning in a gathering. It finds special mention in his 'Jibonsmriti' as it was involved in a glorious event for a young man of twenty six.
... One day having listened to two of my poems from Srikanttha-babu my father had a grin on his face. I was able to take a sweet revenge of that indent later when I am a little grown up. I wish to refer to that incident.
Once I had composed quite a few songs in the morning and afternoon on the occasion of Maghotsava. The song 'Nayon tomare paay naa dekhite' was one of them. My father was in Chuchura. Summon was sent to my elder brother Jyoti-dada and me. I was asked to sing all those songs one after another while Jyoti-dada was in harmonium. I had to repeat some of them.
'If the king of our country had enough knowledge on our language and could respect our literature, they would have surely awarded the poet,' he remarked after I was done with my songs. '
Because there is no scope for that, I would like to take up the responsibility'.
He took out a cheque of five hundred rupees after saying so and handed over to me.

Nayono tomare paay na dekhite, royechho nayone nayone. Hriday tomare paay na jaanite, hridaye royechho gopane. Baasonar bashe mon abirato dhaay dasho dishe paagoler mato, Sthir-aankhi tumi marome shatoto jaagichho shayone swapone. Sabai chherechhe naai jaar keho, tumi aachho taar aachhe tabo sneho - Nirashroy jano, patho jaar geho, seo aachhe tabo bhabone. Tumi chhara keho saathi naai aar, somukhe ananto jibonobistar - Kaalparabar koritechho paar keho naahi jaane kemone. Jaani shudhu tumi aachho taai aachhi, tumi praanomoy taay aami bnaachi, Jato paai tomay aaro tato jaachi, jato jaani tato jaani ne. Jaani aami tomay paabo nirontar lokolokantare jugojugantar - Tumi aar aami maajhe keho naai, kono baadha naai bhubane.
