Notes: This song was composed on 3rd June, 1912 while travelling on ‘City of Glasgow’, a ship sailing across the Red sea.

It was a composition influenced by the beauty of the sky and the sea embracing each other. His feeling was also expressed in a small essay ‘Aanondoroop’, that was written on the next day. The essay was included in the collection named ‘Pather Sanchay’ and the song was added at the end of it.

… I was stood at the top of the deck of the ship in the morning, holding the railing of the deck. Light cool breeze was blowing from the western horizon through the sky and marine blueness. My forehead was sprinkled with feeling of the beauty. My mind started saying, this must be the stream of His blessings! …

… Eternal being within me seems to erupt completely, whenever beauty comes in direct contact with my internal being. In a moment my entire soul leaps in joy to articulate a song – Nay it isn’t colour mere, nor fragrance, this indeed is the nectar, this is the stream of His blessings.
