These songs were written on the occasion of the marriage of Leelabati, the fourth daughter of Raj Narayan Basu with Krishna Kumar Mitra on 25th July 1881. Raj Narayan Basu was once appointed as a tutor for Rabindranath in his childhood. These were the first songs written by the poet for a marriage. He had attached a note for Jogindranath Basu, elder son of Raj Narayan, that read –
'I hereby, send you two songs for the marriage. Please accept if approved.'
The two songs were Dui Hridayer nadi -Sahana/Jhaptaal and Mahaguru, Duti Chhatra Esechhe Tomar - Jayjayanti/ Jhaptaal.
Apart from other minor changes the first line was changed as 'Shubhodine Esechhe Dnohe Charone Tomar...'.
