Shailaja-ranjan Majumdar, in his book 'Jaatrapother Aanondogaan has written in the context of Barsha-mangal in 1939 –
... The next song that we had was – 'Swapne aamar mone holo ...'.
Gurudev must have noticed while teaching the song that it had deeply touched my mind.
Next day it was raining viciously in the morning when I reached Gurudev, he said – 'It is good that you could come in spite of the torrent. Now let us change the tune of the song composed yesterday. It wasn't that catchy.
I started pleading –'I have been completely immersed within the melody all night long. It seems to linger at my back. Please do not alter it anymore.' I was about to place my strong objection when Gurudev smiled and said – 'I was joking with you, don't you understand? I too have liked the melody for the song.' ...
This song bears close resemblence with the poem 'Aadhojaaga' written in the month of January 1940 and compiled in the book 'Sanai'.
