Raj Narayan Basu was once appointed as a tutor for Rabindranath in his childhood. These were the first songs written by the poet for a marriage. He had attached a note for Jogindranath Basu, elder son of Raj Narayan, that read 'I hereby, send you two songs for the marriage. Please accept if approved.' The two songs were
Dui Hridayer nadi -Sahana/Jhaptaal and Mahaguru, Duti Chhatra Esechhe Tomar - Jayjayanti/ Jhaptaal.
Apart from other minor changes the first line was changed as 'Shubhodine Esechhe Dnohe Charone Tomar...'.
Sahana Devi in her memoir 'Smritir Kheya' had quoted her mother saying how Rabindranath himself had sung the song in his incredibly powerful voice.
