We provide the meaning of Tagore songs in English on the basis of visitor's request. Translating a Tagore song is very difficult, hope you will agree. We provide this service according to our capability, feelings and knowledge which may differ with others. We do not wish to claim these as serious translations as the site has its focus on the better reproduction of the songs. Translations of regional feelings are never an easy proposition, that too in the form of a verse. Hence we chose to go for a form that is adaptable and equally lucid to the viewers across the globe. We give additional explanations for the typical Indian and Bengali words that may cause confusion. We even attach images where words are found insufficient. The language is deliberately kept as uncomplicated as possible. This service is absolutely free for all.

AVAILABLE
The entire populace bewildered by the sound of lute.
Rich and lovely music arise endlessly
From the ocean, the sky, shores and the woods,
 The rivers, mountainous caves,
Along with the eternal moves of sombre dance.

Its festive and frolicking time in the spring.
Blissful buzz in the arbour –
Murmur of the leaves, I enjoy,
Ripples in the pool, awestruck, with the breeze
Trickles like a serene melody.
Wind picks up slowly on the green meadow,
Murmur rise within the riverside SAR bushes.
Verses so many, newer lyrics even more
Murmurs seem to produce nectar.

Its festive and frolicking time in the ASHARH.
DAMBARU sounds deep and rumbling across the sky,
Seems like dancing goddess of devastation.
Springs roar infuriated,
Raging sound rises
In the arbour of the large, terrifying PIYAL and TAMAL.
The wind whistling MALLAR in the dark night,
Barmy moonlight waltzing around the sky, teasing.
Verses so many, newer lyrics even more
Murmurs seem to produce nectar.

Its festive and frolicking time in the ASHWIN.
It's clear, clean and brightly clad
Mother of autumn reveals afresh on the earth.
Her hair glitters with the crescent moon
Amid brightly smiling blue lotus up the horizon
White lute on the fairer hands
Delightful mellifluous BEHAG being shaped up,
In the flowering bushes, elated by the moonlight
Crickets call renders heavy eyed.
Verses so many, newer lyrics even more
Murmurs seem to produce nectar.
