Musical profile of durba ganguly:

After having extensive talim in Indian Classical Music, Durba shifted herself to express her artistry through Tagore’s songs. She has applied her basic knowledge of Ragas of North Indian Classical music into Raga based Rabindrasangeet. She has a gifted innocence in her voice which has made her singing style, a blend of classical richness with inner innocence. She is still now under the tutelage of her Guru. She considers herself a student of music with the blessings of her Gurus.

Profile:

Started learning singing at the tender age of 6 at home.

Took primary training for Hindustani classical vocal at Dhirendra Music College Kolkata, under Pracheen Kala Kendra (Chandigarh University) and Troilokya Sangeet Parishad, Kolkata for 5 years.

Learnt Nazrulgeeti and Adhunik Bengali songs from Sri Prabhas Dey (brother of renowned singer Sri Manna Dey).

Received talim for North Indian classical vocalfrom Sri Kuber Sengupta, disciple of Sangeetacharya Tarapada Chakraborty and Sri Subhasish Mukherjee,disciple of Sri Manas Chakraborty, Kotali Gharana.

Started learning Rabindrasangeet from eminent Rabindrasangeet singer, Smt Enakshi Chattopadhyay.

Presently under the talim of Sri Kuber Sengupta, disciple of Sangeetacharya Tarapada Chakraborty (Indian Classical Vocal, KotaliGharana) and Sri Kamal Roy, disciple of Sri Prafulla Das(Rabindrasangeet).

Already performed in several programmes and loved and blessed by the audience.
