She completed her training as Sangeet Prabhakar. She continued her advanced degree in Rabindra Sangeet from Geetabitan. She was under the tutelage of Smt. Chitralekha Choudhury and Smt. Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta.
Read musical profile [ show/hide ]Having been initiated to music at a very early age by her father, Kasturi grew up in an environment which nurtured music and dance.
Along with her schooling, she completed her training as Sangeet Prabhakar. She continued her advanced degree in Rabindra Sangeet from the famous institute 'Geetabitan' in Calcutta. Thereafter, for many years, she endevoured to perfect her vocal skills under the able tutelage of Rabindra Sangeet stalwarts like Smt. Chitralekha Choudhury and Smt. Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta.
After moving to the US, she sought to promote Indian music by founding her music school "Parompara", where she teaches Hindustani Classical, Semi-classical, Rabindra Sangeet, as well as Folk songs.
She has graced the stage with her mellifluous performances across the tri-state area, with her music group 'Parompara'.
