Anandamayee was born in a music family in Bangladesh. At the age of seventeen she received recognition by becoming the winner in the senior section at the Bangladesh Jatiyo Sangeet Sammelan competition.
Read musical profile [ show/hide ]আনন্দময়ী মজুমদারের জন্ম পূব-বাংলার একটি সংগীত-পরিবারে। তাঁর ঠাকুরদা, পিসি, মা বাবা এবং বাবার জ্যেঠাতুতো দাদা, ভাই, বোন সকলেই সংগীতের মানুষ, বিশেষ করে রবীন্দ্রসঙ্গীত। ঠাকুরদা, পিসি, বাবা ও মা দেশে-বিদেশে রবীন্দ্রসঙ্গীতের প্রচারের সঙ্গে জড়িত আছেন, তাঁদের কাছে বহু বড়ো শিল্পীরা শিখেছেন। 'গীতবিতান' থেকে শিখেছেন তাঁর পিসি।
আনন্দ সতেরো বছর বয়সে বাংলাদেশে জাতীয় সংগীত সম্মেলন পরিষদের প্রতিযোগিতায় বড়োদের বিভাগে প্রথম হন এবং 'অনন্য' মান লাভ করেন। কলকাতার ISI –তে কলকাতার College Fest – এ রবীন্দ্রসঙ্গীত প্রতিযোগিতায় প্রথম হন। বাংলাদেশে রবীন্দ্রসঙ্গীতের প্রচার ও চর্চার সঙ্গে জড়িত সেই ছোটবেলা থেকেই। দেশে-বিদেশে গান গেয়েছেন ও গান শিখিয়েছেন।
সম্প্রতি আনন্দময়ী মজুমদারের একটি CD প্রকাশ হয়েছে - Hridoye Chhile Jege।
